Member Support
Life can bring about difficult circumstances beyond your control, creating financial hardships that prevent you from meeting your basic needs. New Life Fellowship's Benevolence Funds are set aside for those who have specific needs that directly affect receiving the necessities of life: food, clothing, housing, transportation, and health.
WHAT IS BENEVOLENCE?
The Benevolence fund is an officially recognized fund and ministry established by the Elders to distribute funds to people in need. The Scriptures provide numerous examples of people who found themselves in crisis conditions and without the means to rectify their situation. The Scriptures provide the church a mandate and a process for supporting those who are in crisis. For example, in 1 Tim. 5: 16, Paul says family members should take care of widows in their family so the church can be free to take care of those with no family support. Thus, God has given the church its scope and process for supporting those in need.
BIBLICAL SUPPORT
The Bible is full of models and encouragement to be generous and to consider the needs of the family of God.
Acts 2:44 And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common; Acts 2:45 and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need.
