The National Day of Prayer exists to mobilize unified public prayer for America.
The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman.
Since 1998 the President issues a proclamation designating the first Thursday in May as a National Day of Prayer on which the people of the United States may turn to God in prayer and meditation at churches, in groups, and as individuals.
You can join with the rest of New Life Fellowship and recognize the National Day of Prayer in a few different ways. Consider recognizing the National Day of Prayer with us in at least one of the following ways:
Engage your community in prayer.
Visit a local fire department, police station or hospital to pray with first responders.
Stop by your local city hall to pray for elected officials or government workers.
Gather with a group of neighbors to pray for your community.
Pray at your local schools or district administration building for the students, faculty and staff.
