Breakout Session: Shanta Fields

Topic: Following God's Plan...Not My Plan

Scripture: Philippians 3:13-14

Session Description
To truly follow God’s plan for our lives we must leave some things behind. God is calling you to leave behind our own limited dreams/plans, our comfort, our desire for control, or anything that hinders us from fully walking in His will. It’s an invitation to trust in His greater purpose for our lives, knowing that what He calls us to leave behind will always lead to something better.

What might God be calling you to leave?

This dynamic session explores what it means to be truly awake and appropriately dressed for the spiritual season we're in through the lens of Romans 13. As Daughters of the King, we're called not just to exist in this moment, but to thrive and lead with purpose. Discover how to clothe yourself with Christ's character and walk confidently in your calling for such a time as this.

Join us as we explore what it means to be fully awake, properly dressed, and ready to make an impact in this crucial season. Together, we'll learn how to exchange our spiritual pajamas for the royal garments or armor God has prepared for us to wear right now.

Breakout Session: Dr. Ashley English

Topic: Wardrobe Change: Taking Off the Old, Putting on the New

Scripture: Colossians 3

Session Description
As spring approaches, we tend to think about spring cleaning and exchanging our winter clothes for pastels, sundresses, and warmer weather. Similarly, as we grow in Christ we become keenly aware that we need to shed old habits and make room for new ones. Unlike changing our clothes, however, we cannot change spiritually on our own. We need help! This session explores how we can partner with God to make a spiritual wardrobe change. Bring your vulnerability, honesty, and heart to this conversation as we step into the fullness of all God has for His daughters by putting on spiritual attire customized for us!

Speaker's Bio
Dr. Ashley E. English is an associate professor of strategic communication at TCU's Bob Schieffer College of Communication and co-founder of the TCU Nonprofit Communicators Conference. With a Ph.D. in Public Administration & Management, her research focuses on organizational listening and public-sector communication with Black stakeholders. A dedicated member of Concord Church in Dallas for 12 years, she has led small groups and served in various ministries. Ashley is married to Dr. Brian L. English and is the proud mother of three children: Joseph, Joshua, and Faith.
